About Us
Mozambique Development in Motion's (MDiM) focus is to support an entire community, not just a single need. MDiM is aiding Mozambicuans in the Inhambane region in the areas of education, health and economic development. The local economy will remain paralyzed if its inhabitants are not educated, healthy and thriving.
Our mission is to form a stool to raise this community to prosperity. Three legs are necessary to support a stool: the first leg is education, the second is healthcare and the third is economic development. Without these basics of life this economy cannot prosper.
MDiM has focused its resources for the Chicuque/Maxixe area, in order to take full advantage of local knowledge and relationships developed by its founders - The Sisters. As resources permit, the foundation's goal is the expansion to other parts of the Inhambane region.
Education
The Education Committee works with educators and local government offices in the Inhambane region prioritizing requirements that will support the greatest needs. This committee strives to provide individuals with learning opportunities, vocational and technical training that will prepare them to enter the workforce. MDiM also selects and sponsors eligible men and women for scholarships for assistance in earning a college education.
Healthcare
The Healthcare Committee works closely with the Chicuque Rural Hospital (CRH) and the Center of Hope (CoH) to identify needs for improving the health and quality of life for Mozambicans in this region.
Economic Development
In the Inhambane region, locals struggle to find sustainable work. The Economic Development Committee exists to empower local nationals to develop business plans to create sustainable businesses for their region. Sponsored businesses must be 100% owned by Mozambican nationals. MDiM provides interest-free loans to qualified business interests. This group’s primary goal is to provide mentorships to increase the success rate of these new organizations. Each repaid loan will be used to fund future business ventures in the region.
